OBSCURA

A nod to the camera obscura — distortion, inversion, shadow.

Obscura continues the collection’s interest in visual instability, shifting attention toward contrast, inversion, and collapse. Using a radial visual logic, it simulates the sensation of viewing through a distorting lens — as if light is folding into itself. The image exists in tension between legibility and erasure, inviting questions around how we see, and what we expect to find in the act of looking.

Within Colorama, this piece reflects on how color is not only expressed through hue, but also through its disappearance — when gradients flatten and image space becomes ambiguous. Obscura offers a visual language drawn from loss, density, and unresolved motion.
