SHATTER(PROOF)

Video installation

Shatter(Proof) is a video installation that addresses the psychological and structural impact of the glass ceiling, focusing on themes of gender inequality, wage disparity, and LGBTQIA+ resistance. Using shifting colors derived from the LGBTQ+ flag, the piece explores the emotional spectrum within the fight for recognition and equal rights.

A transparent acrylic sheet placed in front of the screen invites audience interaction — encouraging viewers to draw, write, or reflect on the surface. This layer transforms the piece into a participatory space, offering both a moment of expression and a symbolic act of breaking through imposed limits.

The work was selected through an open call by Kız Başına, a nonprofit activist organization focused on empowerment, protection, and social transformation for women and minorities in Turkey. As part of the program, I participated in a series of workshops and lectures on feminist digital design, storytelling, and creative data practices. Shatter(Proof) was exhibited in a two-week group exhibition at Barın Han, Istanbul.

Following its initial presentation, the work was selected again for a second exhibition — this time hosted in a brand-sponsored art space in collaboration with Kız Başına, extending its presence as a platform for minority and queer visibility.
